The Adventures of Mrs. Bouter's Class

News and Notes!

We had a fabulous time celebrating the 100th birthday of the OREO cookie yesterday!  What great fun to share the excitement with Mrs. Perry’s kindergarten class.

Tomorrow’s Knight Light’s rehearsal will be cancelled for tomorrow afternoon.  We will continue with lunch time sectionals, and will meet again next Thursday afternoon.  Those children who offered to bring snacks for the end of our rehearsal can do so next week.

Next week, our entire school will be participating in Winter Carnival Events.  Here are the details for the elementary school:

Monday, March 12th            PAJAMA DAY

Tuesday, March 13th            TWIN DAY

Wednesday, March 14th      SKIING AT BROOKVALE

Thursday, March 15th          SUPERHERO DAY

Friday, March 16th               GREEN DAY,  SKATING AT SIMMONS

This is a wonderful week for our students, and participation is strongly encouraged.  We ask the children to be creative with their costumes, to avoid spending money on this.  Have fun planning, and happy tickle-trunking!

Also, next week, we may have a guest student visiting our class for the week.  She and her family are visitng Prince Edward Island.  Let’s make her feel welcome and at home in our classroom!

Two More Days!

Good Afternoon, Parents!

What a fabulous concert our students put on!  I am so proud of each and every one of  them…Congratulations also to the new members of Knight Lights, who experienced the thrill of their first performance.  What a delight!

Looking ahead to this week, tomorrow is our annual CHRISTMAS EVE CHAPEL. Students are invited to dress up in their coziest pajamas (teddy bears included) for a fun celebration of Christmas.

On Tuesday morning, we’ll be having our class party.  As a part of our celebration, we’ll be making an edible nativity craft.  If you haven’t already sent in three dollars to contribute to the cost of this, please remember to do so tomorrow morning.  Parents are also invited to send in some snacks for our party.  Students will need to be picked up at 12:00 pm, and school will officially be finished for 2011!

The first day of school in the new year will be Tuesday, January3, 2012.  Keep an eye out for our first blog entry of the new year.

God Bless each and every one of you. I wish you all the best as you take time with your families to enjoy the blessings that surround us.

Last Full Week of School Begins!

It is hard to believe, but we are entering our last full week of school before the holidays.  As much as possible, please try to maintain nightly reading and homework routines, as we will continue regular testing until the end of the week.

There will be an extra rehearsal for the Knight Lights on Monday, December 12th, from 3-4 pm.  This is to ensure that we are ready for the upcoming concerts.  This will be in addition to our Thursday practise, which will be held upstairs in the sanctuary.  For all new members, I have ordered t-shirts which will arrive on Wednesday (phew!!!).  Please send in $10.00 for these as soon as possible.

CHRISTMAS PARTY!

Our Class party will be held on Tuesday morning, December 20th.  I will be purchasing candy for the decorating of a nativity scene.  There will be a $3.00 charge for this, so  please send this with your children by Wednesday, December 14 th.  Any “nutritious” treats you’d like to send in for our party (crackers/cheese, clementines, fruit, muffins, etc.) would be greatly appreciated.  Junk food is also accepted 🙂

You’ll find our newsletter attached below.  Please be sure to read it carefully for extra details and information regarding our Christmas concert.

News and Notes This Week

Good Morning, Parents!

This is a quick posting to remind you to check our newsletter from last week, as it covers news for this short week and for last week.

Please remember to send in the money for our Fall Party, which is taking place this Wednesday afternoon.  The cost is $3.00 per child. Children are encouraged to dress up as friendly scarecrows – let’s see how creative we can be with things from around our homes.

Library books will be due on Monday mornings from now on, as Mrs. Huising and Mrs. McPhail will be recataloguing books before our Wednesday library times.

Please remember that there will be no school this Thursday and Friday, as the teachers will be attending the Teacher’s Convention in Moncton, NB.

Sincerely,

Mrs. D.
