We had a wonderful day on Friday celebrating our Back to School Olympic Theme. Miss Farrer’s class did and awesome job organizing our fun.
Our new Monday-Friday schedule will take effect this week, so students will be participating in music, library, gym, French, computer, art, and drama. We are thrilled to have Mrs. Thorne teaching science to our class for the first and last quarters of the year. This being our first week, our only test will be our List 1 Spelling Test, which will take place on Friday for both grades. Please ensure that the children are prepared for this by studying their lists each night. This is an excellent time of year to establish great study and homework habits!
I am looking forward to hearing about and seeing all the wonderful treasures in the “Me” In a Bag projects that went home last Thursday! What a great way to start our Monday 🙂
Have a fantastic week. See you at the Parent Information Night, Tuesday, September 11th at 7 pm. This is an important night to connect with our school’s leadership and catch the vision for the new school year.
What a glorious weekend! A new week is ahead of us now, and there is much to keep track of:
Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 11th, will be the rescheduled day for the CROSS COUNTRY RUN. Please remember to ensure that those children who are participating are dressed for the weather, and have a water bottle to take along to the Terry Fox Centre. Layers seem to work best this time of year.
Wednesday, October 12th, Mrs. Thorne will be collecting the “ADOPT-A-PLANET” projects. We will also have LIBRARY with Mrs. Huizing, so please remember to return library books.
Thursday, October 13th, is PICTURE DAY. This is also our FIELD TRIP to Belfast Corn Maze, so please make sure that the children have a change of clothes if you’d like them to wear separate outfits for the photos and the excursion. Our classes will be photographed first, and we will leave directly afterwards.
Friday, October 14th, will be our SPELLING TEST for List 5. Please spend extra time studying the words this week, as we have a shorter work week.
Thank you for your continued support. Be sure to sign up to “Follow By Email” if you’d like to be notified when there are new posts to view.
This week the student council is hosting our Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. We have a large basket in our classroom that is waiting to be filled, so send in your canned or non-perishable goods. Thanks for your generosity in reaching out to our community!
In other news, students are reviewing their science notes tonight for a test tomorrow with Mrs. Thorne.
Also, permission slips went home today for those students who will be participating in the Cross Country Run on Thursday (rain date of Friday). Please send back permission slips tomorrow, Thursday morning at the latest. Students are required to have these in order to leave school premises.
See you tomorrow!
