Skating was a success! A big thanks to those who helped by driving and tying skates.
Non-ESL grade three students may have some questions about their homework for this evening. They are to read chapter two of Secret in the Maple Tree. Then in their new reading response journal they are to write a short summary (one to three sentences about the MAIN action of the chapter), and then respond to the chapter by asking a question, making a comment (telling what they liked or didn’t like and why), making a prediction (telling what they think will happen and why), making a connection (telling what the story reminds them of), or clarifying something (telling what they know about the story). We went over what a good quality four-star response would look like today.
In other news, a survey is going home tomorrow to see how many people would be interested in purchasing a yearbook. Please check either yes or no and then return the piece of paper to school. This will help Mrs. Huizing to know whether or not to go ahead with getting her students to design and produce a yearbook.
I believe that is all for now.
