Did you blink? I must have because I cannot believe I started preparing second quarter report cards already. I guess it’s true: “Time flies when you’re having fun!”
I am hopeful that your children are extending their joy of learning outside the classroom and sharing with you all the exciting things we have been working on inside the classroom. Last week, we had a fantastic time gathering data from the Island Storm players for the class science fair project. We also took time to learn about the persecuted church and pray for those around the world facing hardship due to their faith. This week, we look forward to making bracelets for persecuted women in Sri Lanka and then presenting book report projects. There’s always lots of learning happening!
Book Report Confusion
Speaking of book reports, I sincerely apologize for any confusion regarding the due date of the project. I realized last week that I misprinted the final due date as Friday, February 3rd. We are not supposed the have class that day as it is a Professional Development Day (see below). Therefore, I had to move the due date to Wednesday, February 1st. If your child cannot have the project completed by that day, then please send me an email or a note in the agenda and we will be flexible. Again, I’m sorry for any trouble this has caused.
PD Day, Weather Depending
There will be no class on Friday of this week due to a Professional Development Day. However, as high school students have exams this week, this could change. If there are any cancellations due to weather, the exams will be moved to Friday, which means we will have class that day after all. The forecast looks good so the week will likely run as scheduled.
Off the Wallz Trampoline Park
We will have exclusive access to the new trampoline park in Slemon Park, Summerside on Friday, February 3rd, beginning at 7 PM. Tickets MUST be purchased from the homeroom teacher prior to the event, so please return your child’s form and money by this Monday.
A friendly reminder that this is NOT a GCS supervised event, and partner are responsible for their own children. A waiver form must be completed before the event as well. The cost will be $20 each (Full Park Access) and $15 for Soft Play Park (4 feet and under). Spectators are free. This is a fun way for families to see each other and get to know each other outside our school.
Bible Memory Verse
A new Bible verse already! This one will be due on February 23rd.
“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.” – James 1:19-21
