The Adventures of Mrs. Bouter's Class

New Year and Fresh Snow – Week 18 at GCS

on January 8, 2017

Welcome to 2017! I trust that you had a blessed holiday season. I know I did but I am certainly happy to be back with the students. They add so much joy to my days!

Dress for the Weather

Please make sure your child comes to school with appropriate winter wear such as mittens or gloves, a hat, boots, and snow pants. Also, I highly recommend packing an extra pair of socks as snow has a way of getting into boots, causing wet socks, discomfort, and the wonderful aroma of stinky feet.

Book Report Projects

Students in both grades were given books last week for a cereal box book report project. Grade three is reading Pilgrim Boy and grade four is reading Saved at Sea. Some chapters will be read together in class while others will be assigned for homework. It is important that students are reading the chapters aloud to an adult who can check for comprehension. A project outline will be sent home this week. Parents of ESL students, please note that ESL students are also doing the project with Miss Kelsey, although the books being read by some students are different than the ones mentioned.
