I hope you all had a very happy Thanksgiving! My favorite saying from the holiday: Get rich quick! Count your blessings. 🙂
One of the blessings I am thankful for is your children who showed lots of love to Mrs. Stewart with their kind words that they wrote for her after the loss of her husband. It was a beautiful service on Friday and I know that Mrs. Stewart was touched by the love and support from the students.
Fall Party at the Farm
Yehaw! For our annual Fall Party, the elementary classes will be travelling to Anne and Lee Laird’s farm for the afternoon on Wednesday, October 19th. We will enjoy a barbeque, a hayride, and some good old-fashioned games. Students can dress up as cowgirls and cowboys or any variety of country bumpkin. Please be mindful of the weather as it is getting colder this time of year and have your child dress accordingly.
Parents, we are also looking for some simple desserts (e.g. cookies, brownies) so please tell us if you can help out in this area. Additionally, we will be able to travel by bus, but it cannot hold all of our students. If you are available to drive, then please indicate how many students you can take on the permission form coming home this week. Thanks in advance!
The next Bible verse is actually a continuation of the passage in Romans that your child has already learned. It looks far more intimidating than it actually is!
These verses will be recited on November 8th, so please be sure your child is reviewing it at home consistently.
“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” – Romans 12:9-18
