We’re off to a great start this school year! I am enjoying getting to know your children, with all of their unique personalities and God-given gifts. It is my hope that we will all embrace one another as is fitting of children of God and learn to live out our theme verse: “Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.” I John 3:18.
Take a look at what’s coming up!

A Note from Mrs. McGonnell about Bible
First of all, we are very excited that this year the school will be giving students their own Bible to do creative Bible art journaling! Also, Mrs. McGonnell wanted parents to be reminded that memory verses will need to be worked on at home. However, as the passages are also reviewed daily in class and students have a good portion of time to learn them, this should not be too difficult. There’s no need for you or your child to feel overwhelmed! If they are diligent at school and at home, the verse will most likely be memorized by the quiz date.
Something about Spelling
Spelling will start this week and we will be having our first test of the year on Friday. Inside your child’s spelling folder is a bunch of information about the spelling program. Please take a moment to review it. The BIG thing is that your child studies the spelling list, including definitions, at home every evening as part of his or her homework routine. This, like the Bible memory verse and reading for 15 minutes, will NOT be written in the agenda as it is an expectation that it is being done daily.
Thanks for your partnership in this.
