GCS Grades 3 and 4

The Adventures of Mrs. Bouter's Class

Fall is Flying By! – Week 4

on September 27, 2015

I don’t know about you, but I can hardly believe I will be flipping the calendar this week to October! Where has the month gone?

Reminders of Previously Posted Events

Remember that tomorrow is the GCS Family Potluck at 5:30. Yum yum! Also, next Monday, October 5th, is our annual Cross Country event. You are invited to come and cheer us on! Please be watching for a permission slip which will be sent in your child’s agenda this week.

World Vision Coin Drive – A Grade 3/4 Challenge!

Next week, from October 5th-9th, we will be having our coin drive to raise funds for World Vision. The school participates in this week-long event every year to support a worthy cause. This year, I will once again be posing a special challenge for my students in grade 3 and 4. I will match any donations that the students give in hopes that, together, we can make a significant contribution to help reach out to those in need! I encourage students not just to ask their parents for contributions, but to find a way to earn money to give themselves. There is nothing quite like being able to help those in need, especially since we are so blessed in this part of the world.

Thanksgiving

Of course, there will be no school on Monday, October 12th, due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Science and Technology Week

Coming up in the near future is Science and Technology Week. From October 19th-23rd, we will be engaging in activities to learn more about Mrs. MacNeill’s favorite subject: SCIENCE! It certainly is something to look forward to! More information will be posted soon!

Bible Class

Everyone did a fantastic job with their first Bible memory verse! I just want to let you all know that a new verse will be handed out this week. It is 1 John 4:7-9.

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.  This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.”
