GCS Grades 3 and 4

The Adventures of Mrs. Bouter's Class

Busy, Busy!

on June 9, 2015

We’re rushing on toward the end of the year! It’s hard to believe that in a mere 8 days we will be done! Please be aware of the various events coming up.

Provincial Math Assessment

Tomorrow and on Thursday, grade three students will be writing the Provincial Math Assessment. Try to ensure your child is well-rested for this test!

Time to party! For our class year-end celebration, we will be going to swim at the Cari Pool this coming Thursday for roughly an hour and a half, leaving the school at 12:45 and returning by 3:00. Please make sure your child has appropriate swimwear and a towel to dry off. Girls must have a one piece suit. There is a $4.50 charge for this event.

Open Chapel

Parents are welcome to join us for our final Elementary Chapel on Wednesday, June 17.  This chapel will showcase some of our favorite chapel songs from throughout the year. As well, each of the elementary classes will showcase songs they have learned in Music class. The chapel will begin at 9:00 am.  We look forward to performing for you, and more importantly, worshiping God together!

It is that time again – Thursday, June 18th will be our annual GCS Sandspit day! The ride bracelets this year will be $12.50 per person and allow for all rides except the gokarts. All parents are required to pay for their own bracelets. When purchasing bracelets, let the cashier know you are with the GCS group. Hours of operation are from 9:30am – 3:30pm. This is a great opportunity for you to come and enjoy your children and the fellowship of other parents. You are reminded that there is no supervision by GCS staff and each parent is responsible for either attending with their children or making provision for their children to be cared for.

School Closing

We are hopeful you can join us on June 19 in the church sanctuary around 9 am as we celebrate our school year with songs, awards, special presentations, and an incredible slideshow of photos.  Remember this is a very short day for students, so for those needing to prepare for childcare, heads up!  Students will return to their classrooms following this celebration service to obtain their final report card, and will be dismissed for the day.  Parents can expect to pick their children up by 11:00 AM.

Possible Extra Gym Classes

Mrs. Laird wants parents to be aware that there could be possible changes in the schedule to allow her to complete fitness testing. Students could have an extra gym class next Monday or on one of the days when they have French.

Bible – Final Test

This is a reminder that students will be reciting all the books of the Bible next Monday for Mrs. McGonnell. Please make sure your child is studying as this is quite a challenge which needs to be prepared for!

Hang in there for eight more days! 🙂
