I just want to say how blessed I was to meet with parents last week to discuss the tremendous progress your children have made over the past months. It has been a joy to see them transforming day by day. I’m looking forward to completing this last quarter with them!
Family Fitness Weeks
Mrs. Laird and her Leadership class have prepared two fun-filled weeks of events, challenges, and activities that are sure to encourage students to get in shape and celebrate the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Students will participate in daily “Stop, Drop & Exercise” activities, compete in an elementary “step challenge” using pedometers, visit a variety of fitness stations, and enjoy the fun of completing a unique obstacle course. Students will also shake things up with a Zumba class. There are lots of great prizes to be won throughout the two week event, but that requires a bit more effort. Check out the following two challenges that will involve you too, Mom & Dad!
Family Fitness Challenge- “Be Fit At Home”: Students will receive a checklist to take home with them on Monday. Throughout the course of the week, students and their families are asked to tally their scores, to reflect their healthy living habits. Students are required to return their sheet by Friday morning, for each of the next two weeks. Classes with 90% participation will earn a reward for the class. For additional information, please visit: Fitness
Fitness Tip Of The Day: Each day, for the next two weeks, students will have the opportunity to win prizes, if they are able to recite the fitness tip for that particular day. So here is the list of tips for each day. I will also be posting them on the whiteboard every day for the students to copy down as their beginning activity.

Mrs. MacNeill will be starting a new Science unit on the skeletal & muscular systems. Throughout the unit, students will dissect an animal bone, make an eatable cross section of a human bone to gain a better understanding of how all the parts work together, construct a working model of the hand, and so much more. From time to time, Mrs. MacNeill may require students to bring in supplies from home. Please check your child’s agenda for this information
With the month of April quickly drawing to a close, it is important to remember that April is re-enrollment month at Grace. Please secure your child’s seat for the 2015-16 year, by registering your child and paying the annual $200 re-enrollment fee by April 30. The re-enrollment fee increases on May 1, 2015.
Grace Christian School will be holding its 4th Annual Fundraising Golf Challenge on the morning of Saturday, June 6th, at the Clyde River Golf and Country Club. Last year’s event involved 66 golfers and a dozen volunteers, and raised $ 8,000 for our school! The proceeds from our golf challenge are used to support our student programs, improve our facilities, provide for our growing music program and implement new, innovative technology in our classrooms. Registration forms are now available online at the school’s facebook page.
