GCS Grades 3 and 4

The Adventures of Mrs. Bouter's Class

And Here We Go! March 2-6

on March 2, 2015

I’m not sure what they mean by the “dull” days of winter, because, when it comes to school, there always seems to be a lot going on!

Congrats GCS Girls’ Basketball Team!

Monday morning we are going to be having a pep rally to celebrate the tremendous achievement of the Girls’ Basketball Team who took home the title of Midget A Provincial Champions this weekend! This is first ever for the school!

Note to the GCS EPIC Cheerleaders to please wear their cheer T-shirts and bring their pompoms to school tomorrow for this special celebration!

Science Fair

Mrs. MacNeill and the students of grade 3 and 4 are excited to exhibit their combined entry in this year’s Science Fair. After a classroom vote, Caleb Herron and Simon McGonnell were chosen to present the project, entitled “There’s No Sprout About It”, to the judges this coming Tuesday. We encourage family and friends to join us between 2:00 – 3:00 for public viewing of the students’ projects, where the winners of the school Science Fair will be announced.

Skating

Once again, elementary classes will be travelling by bus to Simmon’s Sports Arena for skating this Wednesday.  We enjoyed having some parents and school supporters join us this past week on the ice.  Please see the previous blog post for additional information regarding skating procedures.

Bricks 4 Kidz Lego Camps

Earlier this year, several elementary students embraced the opportunity to participate in Bricks 4 Kidz camps.  Check out these following updates:

Our camps are high-energy, fast paced settings where kids explore the world of engineering, architecture and mechanics using LEGO® Bricks. Our camp themes and activities are specifically designed for children ages 5 -12. All camp materials are supplied, and in some cases, allow students access to specialized and hard to find LEGO® products and software they might not otherwise be exposed to. In addition to our proprietary motorized model builds, all of our camps include creative free play time with our giant bags of LEGO® Bricks, LEGO-based games and challenges and other small daily take-homes.

Registration for March Break & Summer Camps are beginning soon, with some pretty incredible opportunities.  For more information, visit: http://www.bricks4kidz.com/canada-princeedwardisland-charlottetown/program-events/camps/
