What a tremendous joy it was to hear the students singing their hearts out at the Christmas Musical on Friday! I applaud their enthusiasm and how well they carried themselves on stage. I hope the performance warmed the cockles of your heart as it did mine. 🙂 (Not sure what a cockle is exactly though…)
Coming up this week are various activities and dress-ups days to celebrate the Christmas season.
Monday: Red/Green Day
Students are encouraged to kick start the week with a little festive flare by wearing any combination of red and green. In the afternoon we will grab our passports and travel around the world to learn about Christmas traditions in Germany, Italy, Mexico, and Australia.
Tuesday: Christmas Characters Day
From Disney’s Frozen to Frosty the snowman, or the originals of the nativity scene, students are asked to come dressed as their favorite Christmas character.
Wednesday: PJ Day
Wait for it……..it’s one of the favorite days of our school year for many…….it’s Jammie Day! Yay! Students are asked to come in their PJs for the day, as we enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate, delicious cookies, and a Christmas movie. We may even squeeze in a little carol sing too, if time allows!
Thursday: Dressing Up and Taking Christmas to the Seniors
We will be travelling by bus to Andrews of Stratford to perform our Christmas Musical for the residents. I am told that there will be a few treats for the students following their performance. Following this performance, we will return to school for a quick lunch before performing once again for the residents of Beach Grove Home. We will return to school by 3:00 for pick-up. Students are once again asked to come dressed in their Red, Black, White, and Silver chapel wear! Please ensure that you have signed and returned the permission slip that was sent home late last week.
Friday: Half-Day Christmas Party
Students in grade 3 and 4 will be closing off the school year with “Reindeer Games”, a morning full of laughter and friendly competition. I have some wonderful games planned including an indoor “snowball” fight, a reindeer relay, and a Christmas shuffle. Remember that students will be dismissed for the Christmas Break at 12 noon.
On behalf of all the students of Grade 3 and 4, we wish you a very Merry Christmas & a blessed 2015!
Tests and Quizzes
Just kidding. There are NO tests or quizzes this week. 🙂
