As many of you know, we just celebrated National Science & Technology Week here at GCS. As part of the week, students in Grade 1-4 participated in a poster contest, that has resulted in our entire class being invited to a special student event with Col. Chris Hadfield at The Mack, this Thursday October 30th. Doors will open at 10:30 am and the event will begin at 11 am sharp!
The event will consist of an approximate 15 minute talk or Q&A with Col. Chris Hadfield, followed by a meet and greet. It is very important for us, and Col. Hadfield, that no student be left out of the meet and greet, so we ask that you be prepared when in line to meet him and have your item to be signed or camera/phone ready to take a picture as we can only allocate 30 seconds per child with him.
Due to limited seating in the MacKenzie Theatre, students will only be allocated a ticket for themself and one parent. Mrs. MacNeill and Mrs. Bouter will collect the tickets for the students invited, and therefore ask that students arrive no later than 10:30 to collect their tickets.
STUDENTS ARE ASKED TO DRESS IN CHAPEL DRESS FOR THIS EVENT.
We are so honored to be chosen to represent Island students, and look forward to Thursday with great excitement. You may even say, “We Are Over-The-Moon”!!!
