Hello parents and readers!
This passage from Psalm 103 has been going through my mind today and I thought I would share it with you all: “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
We have so many blessings bestowed on us daily! I hope you all took time this weekend to reflect on all that God has given and praise Him for all He has done.
Coin Drive – The Results Are In!
Wow! I was so impressed and encouraged by the giving hearts of the kids in grade 3 and 4. They learned this week that we indeed have lots to be thankful for, as other children around the world suffer from hunger, are plagued with the fear of war, do not have a home to go to, and are not able to go to school. With eleven students and one teacher, we raised a classroom total of $57.67 for World Vision! My heart was especially touched because I know that one child in particular gave all the money he had saved up to help those who are less fortunate. Well done, class! ❤

Science and Technology Week
Imagine what a classroom would look and sound like if students were actively engaged in inquiry work; where they were reading, talking, questioning, analyzing and creating products based on compelling questions and topics. We are about to find out during National Science & Technology week!
During the week of October 20th -24th, students will participate in collaborative learning stations, working alongside students and teachers from Kindergarten through Grade 12. While some students participate in an in-school car building project with Lego, other students will explore kitchen chemistry and prepare delicious cupcakes; one for each student and each element on the period table. Students in elementary will also participate in a “Dress like a Scientist” contest at the end of the week, after discussing the many science-related careers. This is just a preview of some of the great opportunities!
