GCS Grades 3 and 4

The Adventures of Mrs. Bouter's Class

Welcome Back!

on September 4, 2014

What a wonderful way to begin the year! You will not believe the positive day we had today as we discussed, modeled, and practiced our classroom procedures, talked about our school rules, and even did a bit of art by making our own color wheel name plates. I am super excited to have this class of amazing young learners! I love the kiddos that the Lord has blessed me with and cannot wait to see what He has in store for them this year!

Below is some important information about upcoming events and classroom procedures.

Back to School Field Trip to Canoe Cove

A permission slip was sent home today with information regarding tomorrow’s field trip. I will repeat it here for your convenience:

The Elementary will be going on their back to school field trip to Canoe Cove Christian Camp. We will have a time of fun and games as well as a chapel service. We will be taking the bus, leaving at 9:00 am and returning to the school by 2:45 pm. Please remember to send the following items with your child: snack, lunch (that does not need to be heated), and a water bottle. It is supposed to be a nice sunny day so please ensure that your child has put sunscreen on before he/she leaves home. The cost for this trip is $4.00 per child.

The Procedure for Slips and Money

This year we are trying to make it easier to keep track of permission slips and payments for school events and food orders. Therefore, we ask that you please enclose any slips and money inside a white envelope with your child’s name, the amount of money in the envelope as well as the purpose of the money. Place this inside your child’s agenda pocket. This year, food and milk orders will always be due on Wednesday.

Meet the Teacher Night

A strong partnership between school and home is essential! Next Tuesday, September 9th will be Meet the Teacher Night. It will begin with general school information at 6:30 in the sanctuary followed by open visits to the classroom. Parents can come, meet the teacher, ask questions, and get acquainted with some of the school expectations and procedures. Students are welcome as well and there may even be little treats in store for these guests. We would love to see you there!

This Here Blog

It is my full intention to update the classroom blog regularly on Friday evenings so that parents and students alike know what is upcoming. The blog may also be updated throughout the week with additional information. If you have not yet done so, be sure to follow the blog so that you will receive email notifications when an update is made.

Stay tuned for more information coming your way this weekend!

Be transformed!
