Well, I must say as we look toward the end of the year, I am indeed thankful for the wondrous truth that God has shown again and again: that He is our strength and in Him alone we can trust. I hope the students have learned, as I have, what it means to be strong in the Lord!
Here is a look at what’s coming up in the near future:
Track Meet at UPEI
This Wednesday, May 28th, students will be hosting an annual Track and Field meet at UPEI. Elementary students from other Maritime Christian schools will be competing with our very own students. Please stay tuned for additional information to be sent home on Monday. Drivers are needed for this event and, if you are able to drive, please let me know by writing on the permission form.
Rise and Climb
One Friday, June 13th, we will be going to Rise and Climb Adventure Course for our class year-end celebration! We will spend roughly an hour on their kid-friendly rope course consisting of 10 fun and challenging elements. Rise and Climb has an “Always On” belay system for the kids, which adds an extra measure of safety. The rest of the morning will be spent paying a game of Laser Tag. After eating a bagged lunch, we will head over to the Terry Fox Sports Complex and use their beach volleyball court and walking trails. The cost of this event is $15. Parents must sign a waiver for Rise and Climb, as well as the permission form for the school.
More information about Rise and Climb and their Kids Adventure Course can be found here: http://www.riseandclimb.ca/GenDisplay.asp?ID=87&pID=189&amt=1&type=0&order=0
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me. If some students are very nervous about going on the ropes course, they can always join me watching from below and cheering the others on. However, this is a great opportunity for students to stretch themselves and try something challenging and new.
And, of course, we will be needing drivers for this event. Please let me know as soon as possible if you can serve in this way.
I am very pleased to post a smattering of pictures from the past few weeks. Below we have picture of the grade four book report projects (which they did very well on), the grade one and two class taking a look at the projects after listening to some of the oral reports, our trip to Waters Cool, Lyndsay showing her support for Jamaica, our butterfly art project, and Tenny showing her fellow students how to draw a monkey character.
