GCS Grades 3 and 4

The Adventures of Mrs. Bouter's Class

Winter Activities Galore!

on February 18, 2014

Hello readers!

Students are excitedly watching the Olympics to count the medals for our chosen countries, Canada and Austria. Hopefully, this week we’ll be able to add another Canadian medal with Heather Moyse and Kaillie Humphries, the Island bobsled team, going for gold tomorrow! We might even take a few minutes to watch!

Besides the Olympics, there is a lot going on during this short week.

Skating

Once again, we will be leaving the school tomorrow at 1:00 to go skating at Simmons arena.  Please ensure that your child has skates and a helmet.  Students who are not skating must be picked up at the school by 12:15 pm.

We are happy to say that there will be an area of the ice tomorrow that will be for those who want to play hockey, thanks to a couple of parents who volunteered to supervise this. If your child is interested in this and has a hockey stick, they may take it with them tomorrow. Also, please remember that STUDENTS MUST BE PICKED UP AT THE RINK NO LATER THAN 2:45. If your child is attending after school care, please let us know.  We will arrange to have your child transported back to the school.

Skiing

Along with the permission slips sent last week, rental forms went home today for Brookevale Ski Park. These forms must be filled out by parents before your child hits the hills (which may only be the bunny hill, depending). Students who own their own skis will not have to rent them, but will still have to pay for the lift pass. We are in need of drives for this event! Please tell me as soon as possible if you are able to drive and how many students you can take.
