“Christmas is a-comin’ and the geese are getting fat,” as my mother would say. 🙂
First of all, my apologies for not putting up a post last week. As it turns out, the draft version of my post was never actually published. I’m not sure how this happened, but I’ll make sure that every post actually makes it to the blog from now on.
Secondly, my congratulations to all the kids on their excellent performance in the concert on Friday! I am unbelievably proud of them! I hope the concert was as much of a blessing to you as it was to me. 🙂
We have a delightful week ahead of us. However, since there may be more snow coming, be sure to listen to the radio or check the Ocean 100 website for any cancellations. We follow the update for the English Language School Board and the Colonel Gray, Bluefield, and Charlottetown Rural family of schools.
On Monday, December 16, we plan on having a Reader’s Theater on the nativity story in the afternoon. This should be an enjoyable classroom activity to learn more about Christ’s birth.
Packing Hampers at Salvation Army
On Tuesday, December 17, for our Christmas service project this year, we will be travelling to the Salvation Army to help pack Christmas food hampers for people in need. We will leave the school at 10:45 to begin packing at 11:00. We will finish by 12:00 and be back at the school for lunch at 12:15. Parent volunteers who can stay to help will be much appreciated! Please make sure the permission form, which was given Friday evening, is signed and returned to me.
Pajama and Movie Day
On Wednesday, December 18, we will be spending the morning enjoying comfort in the Fellowship Hall with a lovely Christmas movie, a story read by Mrs. Perry, and some treats. Students can wear pajamas, provided they are modest. No nightgowns, please. They can also take in blankets and pillows if they wish.
Red/Green and Learning Center Day
On Thursday, December 19, students can dress up in their best red and green garb! In the afternoon, we will be travelling to each of the four elementary classrooms to participate in half hour learning centers.
Singing and Christmas Par-tay!
On Friday, December 20, we will leave school at 9:00 to go to Whisperwood Villa to sing carols to the residents. Then we will go the Able’s home for activities and ice cream! Students are asked to bring in $2.00 to cover the cost of the ice cream. We will be returning to the school by 12:00, which is the end of the day. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: FRIDAY IS A HALF DAY!
Upcoming Tests and Quizzes
Just kidding. There will be no tests or quizzes this week. 😛
