GCS Grades 3 and 4

The Adventures of Mrs. Bouter's Class

A Look at the Week Ahead – Oct. 28 – Nov. 1

on October 27, 2013

Howdy there, ya’ll!

Be sure to check out some of the pictures from the fabulous farm day we had at Mrs. Laird’s last week. What a blast! I posted just a few of the ones snapped throughout the day. Also, I’d like to tell you that Show and Tell was really interesting. Students brought in very unique items to share, including a grandfather’s graduation ring, a picture scrapbook, a Bible presented at a baptism, and a cool noisemaker brought all the way from Shenzhen, China.

Here’s some information for the upcoming week:

A Message from Mrs. Huizing: Cyberbullying Hurts – Parent Information Night This Tuesday, October 29, 2013

Many of our Jr. and High School students are involved in leading a worldwide Cyberbullying Summit in PEI on November 9th. They will be meeting with the leaders of Facebook, Google, Snapchat, Twitter, Xbox, and many more, to create an action plan that addresses the problem of Cyberbullying in our schools.

These students have been working with Parry Aftab, the world’s expert on Cyberbullying.  Parry will be at the Parent Information Night to explain the affects of cyberbullying worldwide and what you as parents can do to aid your children, growing up in the ever-changing world of social media.

This is a student-led discussion on Cyberbullying and will provide the parents with plenty of information on the issues surrounding on-line peer abuse.

The event is from 6 – 7 pm.  Childcare and refreshments are provided.

We hope you will come out to this important event.

Bring Your Swords (a.k.a. Bibles)!

If your child has an ESV Bible to bring to school, then please have him or her bring it. I am told that grade four students were given one last year. Grade three students will be supplied with a Bible that they can use throughout their school years if they do not have one.
