GCS Grades 3 and 4

The Adventures of Mrs. Bouter's Class

Final Week of School

on June 18, 2012

Looking ahead to our last week of school, here are some things to take note of:

Monday, June 18th – Field Trip to Strathgartney Provincial Park

Tuesday, June 19th – Regular Class Day

Wednesday, June 20th – Regular Class Day

Thursday, June 21st – GCS Family Day at Sandspit

Friday, June 22nd – School Closing, 9:00 am.

For today’s Field trip to Strathgartney, please remember to send along sunscreen, bug spray, lunches, a towel (and a change of clothes) and small outdoor toys to play with.  We’ll be going on a nature walk this morning, playing some games, and enjoying lunch together.  After lunch, the children will have free time to play.  Water is likely to be involved!

On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, we will be cleaning our classroom and sending home all of the students’ left over school supplies and books.   Please send along an extra bag for the children to bring these items home.  Recyclable grocery bags would be tough enough for the job, as plastic tends to break easily.

The Sandspit Day is not a school field trip as such. Families are invited to go to the park together, and students from our school receive a group rate of $12.00 per ticket.  Let the staff  know that you are a part of the school to receive the group ticket price.  This is always a fun day for the students and their families.

Friday morning, we will celebrate our School Closing together.  Parents and encouraged to attend.  Each class will be participating in a musical performance, and students will be recognized for their hard work.  Students will receive their report cards following the assembly, and will then be able to go home.  The morning will wrap up around 11:00,  so please make arrangements to pick your children up no later than 11:30 am.

It has been a privilege and a blessing to teach your children this year, and I thank you all for your support, encouragement, and cooperation. I would also like to  say a huge THANK YOU! to parents who have been able to take time out of your busy schedules to help drive for our class field trips.  Our class has appreciated your efforts!  Have a wonderful, safe, and relaxing summer.

God Bless,

Mrs. Devries
